I Am Bored – What To Do If You Are Bored
I am bored. Everyone gets bored from time to time. You think “I don’t have anythng to do”. Most likely you do it’s just that it’s not something that is fun. Who wants to clean house or pay bills? So you stare at the four walls or the television set and waste away a perfectly good afternoon. Here are some ideas that may help you to get motivated. Some are super fun. Others, well, at least they’ll get you up off the couch.
Learn Face Painting
You’ll be the hit of the party once you’ve mastered the art of face painting. And you don’t have to be artistic either. There are many places on the net that will teach you how to face paint. Your newly found talent could even make you some extra spending money. Check the internet for online face painting classes.
Do A Puzzle
A puzzle is a great way to fill a few boring minutes here and there. Once you’ve set up a place to do your puzzle you can go back to it again and again. You’ll always know you have something fun to do. For an extra challenge try a 3-D puzzle.
Get Out Old Yearbooks
Pour yourself a cup of coffee and go down memory lane. You’ll laugh at some of the old pics and memories will flow. It will be like meeting your old friends again. But don’t just dream of the old times. Pick up the phone and give an old classmate a call. After a long chat you won’t even remember why you were bored in the first place.
Wash All Your Knickknacks
Okay, this may not be the most fun one but you are bored so you might as well make the most of it. You’ll have sparkling clean knickknacks and killed some time in the process.
Try Writing A Song
Everyone has at least one song in them. Now is the time to let it out. Seriously, have you heard some of the popular country songs? Pick a subject, even a red Solo cup, lol, and go with it. You’ll have a lot of fun and this may be the start of a big career.
Replant Your Houseplants
You love your houseplants and you want them to thrive. If you also love gardening then this will be a fun project for you. Your plants will love you for it. Going to the nursery, picking out what you need, spending time on the patio in the warm sunshine re-potting. This will give you and your plants a fresh start.
Learn A New Dance Or Exercise
Put the music on or the exercise tape in and release that pent up energy. Make up a silly dance or get creative and pretend you are a choreographer for a big musical. For more fun you could video tape yourself and see how awesome you really are.
Gregg’s Shorthand may not be as popular now as it was decades ago but it is still very fun to learn and you will be able to impress all your friends and co-workers with your new “secret” code. Once mastered you can use it to make lists, take fast notes, or write secrets you don’t want anyone else to read.
Groom Your Dog
Get the brush out and spend some quality time with your best friend. If you want to really get serious about grooming you can take a dog grooming class or check out how-to’s on the internet. This is another one that could eventually help you make money.
Make Up A New Recipe
If you like to cook then spend some time in the kitchen experimenting with new spices and flavors. You might come up with something that will turn out to be a family favorite. Or it could end up really terrible and you’ll have a good laugh at what you created.
Go Through Old Pictures
Separate your pictures by year, or person, or event. Put them in photo albums. Maybe try scrapbooking. You will find the time will fly by as you reminisce over all the good times.
Take A Walk or Walk Your Dog
Get out in the fresh air and get some exercise. This is a good way to get in shape. Call a friend to walk with you or bring your dog. Your dog gets bored, too, you know.
Rearrange The Furniture
It’s always fun to change a room around and make it feel brand new. Move some pieces from the family room into the living room. Move a chair or side table into the bedroom. Change it up. It will make you feel good and give you a new outlook.
Declutter Your Cellphone
Sit, relax, and go through your pictures, apps, settings, etc. and delete, save, rearrange. Get rid of the old and make room for the new.
Write Your Will
Single or married, young or old, we all need to make a Will. If you are bored and can’t find anything to do you might as well get this done so you can cross it off your list. You can find Will kits at your local Hallmark Store or a stationary store. They are easy to do and you will feel good knowing you’ve prepared for the future.
Teach Your Old Dog A New Trick
Check out a dog training website or book and pick out a fun trick you think your dog will be able to do. Or make one up yourself. Dogs love to learn and the fun the two of you will have will definitely keep boredom at bay.
